Special Education Teacher | Westfield, Massachusetts

Step into an impactful role as an Elementary Special Education Teacher supporting young learners in grades K-4 in a substantially separate, therapeutic classroom environment. This contract opportunity spans the full academic year, from August 25, 2025, through June 19, 2026, with daily hours from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement
• Experience teaching elementary students, preferably in a self-contained or substantially separate classroom
• Familiarity with therapeutic approaches and strategies to support diverse learning needs
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum and implement IEPs effectively
• Passion for working with students with a range of disabilities and therapeutic needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to a small group of K-4 students in a dedicated classroom setting
• Design and implement individualized lesson plans based on IEP goals
• Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families to support student progress
• Foster a safe and positive classroom environment that addresses students’ academic and emotional needs
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and complete required documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
