Special Education Teacher - Westfield, MA

A Special Education Teacher is needed to support Kindergarten students in an Inclusion/Resource role within a school setting located in Westfield, MA. This contract position involves working collaboratively across two classrooms, supporting a total of 14 children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction to students with moderate disabilities, utilizing inclusion and resource strategies.
• Move between two Kindergarten classrooms to facilitate learning and support individual student needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to deliver an inclusive educational environment.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain communication with families and participate in collaborative planning.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) is required.
• Experience working with young children, particularly in an Inclusion/Resource capacity, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and related best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage a classroom with a mixed group of students and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
