Three dedicated Special Education Teachers are needed to support students across early elementary, middle, and high school levels for the upcoming school year. This contract position will provide opportunities to work with diverse caseloads in a dynamic educational environment located near Westland, MI.
These roles begin August 31, 2026, and run through June 4, 2027. Each assignment is full time, allowing you to work collaboratively with other educators and specialists while positively impacting students' learning journeys.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Active Michigan teaching certification with Special Education endorsement (must be submitted with your application)
- Previous experience or demonstrated readiness to teach in early learning elementary, middle school, or high school settings
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Commitment to individualized education plans (IEPs) and inclusive practices
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ specific needs
- Participate in the creation and evaluation of IEPs
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support varied learning styles
- Track student progress and maintain all required documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to foster student growth
