Special Education Teacher - Westphalia, Michigan

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in schools or educational settings, specifically with students with special needs
• Capable of delivering tailored instruction and classroom management in a 1:1 environment
• Effective collaborator comfortable partnering with paraprofessional support staff
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive rapport with students and team members
• Elementary endorsement (EL) is a plus, but not required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) for a single 5th-grade student
• Partner closely with a paraprofessional to optimize learning and support
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to address academic and behavioral needs
• Track and report on student progress, making adjustments as necessary
• Maintain effective communication with school stakeholders and the student’s support network
• Stay current on best practices for special education instruction and compliance
