Step into a meaningful role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in the Stamford, Connecticut area. This contract opportunity involves working directly with students in either self-contained or resource/co-teaching classroom environments. Core subjects include English Language Arts (ELA), Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics. You’ll have the rewarding responsibility of guiding approximately 8 students in self-contained classrooms, or 20-25 students in a resource or co-teaching setting.

Your day-to-day will include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), conducting student assessments, presenting at IEP meetings, and maintaining consistent goal tracking. Case management tasks are supported by district office administration, allowing you to focus on providing direct instructional support and driving student success.

What we’re looking for:
• Connecticut Special Education Endorsement (required)
• Background and confidence in writing and implementing IEPs
• At least two years of recent, relevant teaching experience
• Passion for making a positive impact on diverse learners

Core responsibilities:
• Facilitate specialized instruction in ELA, Science, Math, and Social Studies
• Adapt lessons to accommodate individual learning needs
• Prepare, revise, and implement IEPs
• Conduct assessments and analyze progress
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Present at meetings and collaborate with other educators
