Special Education Teacher | Westport, Connecticut

Four full-time contract positions are available for the 2026/2027 school year. These opportunities span both high school and middle school settings, offering a chance to work closely with diverse learners and collaborate in dynamic educational environments.

Your assignment will run from August 24, 2026, through June 24, 2027. Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 2:40 pm, giving you the perfect work-life balance to recharge outside the classroom. Positions include High School Resource and Co-Teaching, plus two at the middle school level—one of which is a leave replacement through December.

What we’re looking for:

• Certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for certification)
• Recent experience teaching in a special education classroom or resource setting
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with general educators, therapists, and support staff
• Flexibility to adapt to various caseloads and student needs
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Your key responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction that meets Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs collaboratively
• Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams for holistic student support
• Adjust instruction to address evolving student strengths and challenges
