Key Qualifications:

• Active and valid Special Education Teacher licensure (SPED) for Alabama (verification required)
• Experience in elementary special education settings, especially self-contained or Language/Autism units
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Flexibility, organization, and a commitment to student-centered instruction

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction for self-contained Language/Autism units (grades K-5)
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs and progress
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals (3–5 per unit) to maintain a supportive and structured classroom environment
• Foster social, behavioral, and academic growth while ensuring a safe and caring space for all students
• Track student development, maintain records, and communicate updates to families and school staff

This contract runs from early August to late May, aligning with the school calendar, and brings a meaningful schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You’ll teach in an onsite, K–5 setting alongside talented staff dedicated to student success.
