This contract opportunity spans from August through May, offering 37.5 hours weekly across various settings—Inclusion, Self-Contained, and Behavior Unit classrooms. With multiple positions open, you’ll work onsite, collaborating with educators and staff to create an inclusive, supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) licensure for Alabama. Licensure can be verified online.
- Experience or interest in working with elementary students of varied needs.
- Flexibility to work in different classroom models: Inclusion, Self-Contained, and Behavior Unit.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to document progress and collaborate with team members.
- Dedication to fostering a welcoming, positive learning environment for students with diverse abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate varying learning styles and challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, administrators, and families to support academic and behavioral growth.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Implement classroom management techniques to ensure a safe, supportive atmosphere.
