Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama Special Education Certification (K-6 or 6-12). Credentials can be verified online.
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in elementary self-contained settings, is highly valued.
• Ability to teach, motivate, and advocate for students with a variety of learning needs.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
• Willingness to support and guide paraprofessionals/aides within the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to elementary-aged students in a self-contained environment.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Collaborate with paraeducators/aides to maximize student engagement and success.
• Regularly communicate student progress to families and staff.
