This full-time, contract opportunity involves serving various schools within a 35-mile radius of Medford, Oregon—including areas from Ashland up to Eagle Point and Grants Pass. Engage with an innovative team as an Autism Specialist, leveraging your advanced expertise across K-12 settings.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in special education, speech-language pathology, or school psychology with a valid Oregon TSPC license or board certification as an SLP. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with significant expertise in Autism and familiarity with public education and special education are also welcomed to apply.
Qualifications:
- Master’s-level degree in Special Education, School Psychology, or Speech-Language Pathology with current Oregon licensure (or BCBA with at least 3 years Autism experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience working directly with students on the Autism spectrum, covering a range of functioning levels and severities
- Demonstrated ability to conduct Autism assessments/evaluations and collaborate on appropriate educational interventions
- Significant experience with both general education inclusion and self-contained programs for students with complex needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct consultation and expertise to school teams serving students with Autism
- Support individualized program development and conduct ongoing assessments to measure student progress
- Offer coaching, training, and resources to staff and families to foster student inclusion and growth
- Foster positive behavioral supports and evidence-based instructional strategies in classrooms
