What we’re looking for:

  • State certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Endorsement in cognitive impairment
  • Experience teaching in a self-contained classroom preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs for students in grades 9–12
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with other staff, students, and families
  • Passion for supporting students’ individual needs and fostering academic growth

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering instruction and adapting curriculum for students with cognitive impairments
  • Creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
  • Writing and maintaining IEPs, progress reports, and necessary documentation
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Communicating regularly with families regarding student progress
  • Participating in IEP meetings, trainings, and staff development activities
