Special Education Teacher - Whitehall, Pennsylvania

Key Qualifications

• Current, active Pennsylvania teaching license
• PA PDE Certification: Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, and/or Instructional I or II in appropriate Special Education subject areas
• Thorough familiarity with special education practices and settings
• Direct experience in IEP planning, development, and implementation
• Willingness to serve in various locations across Carbon or Lehigh counties
• Commitment to in-person engagement only
• Ability to provide proof of active PA licensure and PDE certification via TIMS

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as an itinerant Special Education Teacher covering for staff absences within a designated county
• Provide continuous support and stability for students, stepping in for leaves or longer-term absences as needed
• Collaborate with school teams to plan, develop, and implement IEPs
• Flexibly support various classrooms and adapt to daily assignments
• Foster an inclusive, positive environment that encourages student growth and achievement

Assignment Details

• Contract position following the school calendar: August 10, 2026 – June 11, 2027 (tentative)
• 35 hours per week
• Assignments will be in-person at schools in either Carbon or Lehigh counties
