Special Education Teacher - Whitehall, Pennsylvania

This contract opportunity includes placements in Autism Support, Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS), and Emotional Support classrooms, with locations designed to be accessible within a 35-minute commute for all educators. Assignments follow a school-day schedule adhering to the academic calendar.

What You Bring:

• Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred, depending on assignment)
• Experience teaching in special education settings—autism support, multiple disabilities, or emotional support highly valued
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Effective classroom management and positive behavior support skills
• Track record of collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Strong communication skills and adaptability to meet students’ diverse needs

Your Program-Specific Knowledge Might Include:

• Autism Support: Familiarity with ABA, communication supports (AAC, PECS), BIPs, sensory regulation
• Multiple Disabilities Support: Experience with significant support needs, adapted curriculum, life skills development, and personal care support
• Emotional Support: Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, de-escalation techniques, crisis prevention, and supporting emotional regulation
