Special Education Teacher - Whitehouse Station, New Jersey

This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, with consistent hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing the chance to foster growth and learning for students with autism.

In this role, you'll guide and support young learners in a structured and nurturing environment. Your experience and compassion will be essential as you create tailored educational experiences that address each child's unique needs, ensuring every student has the opportunity to shine.

What’s required for success:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for grades K-3
• Demonstrated experience teaching students with autism, preferably in early elementary settings
• Deep understanding of evidence-based strategies for students with autism spectrum disorder
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and staff
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum and activities to individual learning plans

Your daily impact will include:

• Delivering customized instruction to K-3 students in an autism classroom setting
• Designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitoring student progress and making data-informed adjustments
• Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and families
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate
• Managing classroom routines while accommodating a range of learning abilities
