Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Background working with intermediate school-aged children (grades 4-6) preferred
  • Experience with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) programming highly desirable
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Compassion, flexibility, and adaptability in a classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction using evidence-based strategies for students with Intellectual Disabilities
  • Design and adapt lesson plans to fit a variety of learning styles and needs
  • Monitor and document student progress, preparing reports for IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to support student success
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued
