Special Education Teacher | Williamstown, Massachusetts

Make a meaningful impact this school year by providing specialized instruction and support for students with significant needs in a dynamic educational setting. This is a full-time contract position supporting students in substantially separate classrooms, with openings for both a K-1st grade class and a 3rd-5th grade class. You’ll have the opportunity to facilitate learning and make a difference for students with severe cognitive and physical disabilities, some of whom are non-verbal or on the autism spectrum. Select students are supported by RBTs, and your expertise in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (ABA) will be highly valued in this collaborative role.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid teaching credentials with Special Education certification
• Experience working with severe/profound caseloads, including supporting students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities
• Comfortable providing toileting assistance and handling personal care needs
• Experience or familiarity with specially designed instruction and ABA practices preferred
• Team-oriented mindset and effective communication skills
• Ability to adapt lessons to individual learning needs and support both verbal and non-verbal students
• Willingness to work onsite; open to travel professionals

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies
• Implement students’ IEP goals and track progress
• Support students’ daily living skills, behavioral, and academic growth
• Provide toileting and mobility support as needed
• Collaborate with RBTs, therapists, and educational support staff
• Communicate regularly with families and school teams
