Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification/licensure (appropriate state credential required)
- Experience working within a resource classroom or similar special education environments
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to effectively modify curriculum and provide differentiated instruction
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, and families
- Compassion, patience, and genuine commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and deliver lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Manage a resource classroom for 6th grade learners, providing small-group and individualized instruction
- Develop and monitor IEP goals and accommodations; document student progress
- Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support inclusion
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages academic and social growth
- Maintain positive relationships with students and their families through regular communication
