Currently, there is an immediate opening for a high school (grades 9-12) special education teacher, with additional positions anticipated at the middle school level. The high school position is the school's current priority and will be addressed first. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues until June 11.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education
  • Experience teaching students in grades K-5, 6-8, and/or 9-12
  • Strong commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom environments
  • Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), instructional adaptations, and progress monitoring
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs in either inclusion/resource or self-contained settings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support for students with mild to moderate disabilities at the high school level in an inclusion/resource setting (9-12; 7:15 am – 2:30 pm, M-F)
  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general educators, service providers, and support staff to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment for all students
  • Opportunity to transition or be considered for a middle school self-contained autism classroom (grades 6-8; 7:25 am – 2:05 pm, M-F) as needs arise
