This opportunity focuses on supporting either high school (grades 9–12) or middle school (grades 6–8) students, helping each learner thrive in a supportive educational environment.
Currently, there is a high priority opening for the high school setting, working with students in mild to moderate inclusion/resource classrooms. The middle school position, following in need, supports a self-contained autism class. Both roles emphasize individualized instruction, collaboration, and meaningful progress from now through June.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students (grades K–12)
- Skilled in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Comfortable adapting lessons for diverse learning needs and behavioral supports
- Strong commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Ability to effectively collaborate with staff, administration, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ individual goals and abilities
- Develop, update, and document progress on IEPs in partnership with parents and team members
- Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture
- Maintain regular communication with parents and school personnel
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development activities
- Use evidence-based instructional strategies and classroom management techniques
