Grades K - 5 Certified Special Education Teacher in Willimantic, CT

Two immediate openings are available for certified Special Education Teachers: a high school (grades 9-12) inclusion/resource position working with a mild to moderate needs population, and a middle school (grades 6-8) self-contained autism classroom role. The high school opening is the school’s top hiring priority and will be filled before focusing on the middle school position.

Work alongside dedicated staff, guiding students from diverse backgrounds toward their academic and social goals. Both positions are Monday through Friday and will run from ASAP through June 11.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
• Experience with grades K-5, 6-8, or 9-12.
• Background in inclusion/resource settings or self-contained classrooms preferred.
• Skilled in creating individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting curriculum.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications to meet each student’s individualized learning goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related services providers.
• Foster an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere.
• Manage documentation, IEPs, and progress monitoring.
• Engage families in the educational process.
• Respond flexibly to diverse student needs in either an inclusion/resource or specialized autism classroom setting.
