This contract role will have you working with a mild to moderate student population, collaborating with fellow educators to help each learner reach their fullest potential.
Your school day runs from 7:15 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday—leaving you with afternoons free while providing a stable and engaging routine. You’ll foster positive learning environments, encourage individual growth, and leverage your expertise to accommodate various learning needs.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Active state certification as a Special Education Teacher (grades 9–12)
- Experience working with high school students in inclusion and/or resource settings
- Understanding of IEPs, individualized learning strategies, and progress monitoring
- Collaborative approach, able to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dedication to creating supportive classroom experiences for students with mild to moderate disabilities
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering tailored instruction to students individually and in small groups
- Developing, implementing, and tracking student progress towards IEP goals
- Maintaining accurate and timely records
- Adapting lesson plans to meet diverse student needs
- Working closely with general education teachers to promote positive outcomes in both inclusion and resource environments
