Certified Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher in Willimantic, CT

This contract role will have you working with a mild to moderate student population, collaborating with fellow educators to help each learner reach their fullest potential.

Your school day runs from 7:15 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday—leaving you with afternoons free while providing a stable and engaging routine. You’ll foster positive learning environments, encourage individual growth, and leverage your expertise to accommodate various learning needs.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Active state certification as a Special Education Teacher (grades 9–12)
• Experience working with high school students in inclusion and/or resource settings
• Understanding of IEPs, individualized learning strategies, and progress monitoring
• Collaborative approach, able to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dedication to creating supportive classroom experiences for students with mild to moderate disabilities

What you'll be doing:

• Delivering tailored instruction to students individually and in small groups
• Developing, implementing, and tracking student progress towards IEP goals
• Maintaining accurate and timely records
• Adapting lesson plans to meet diverse student needs
• Working closely with general education teachers to promote positive outcomes in both inclusion and resource environments
