Exciting opportunity available for a passionate Special Education Teacher to provide personalized homebound instruction to a 3rd grade student with Life Skills needs. This contract position offers meaningful engagement working one-on-one in a supportive educational environment near Willis, TX. The assignment begins as soon as possible and covers the end of the current Extended School Year (ESY), with continued coverage through the entire 2026-2027 school year.
Your expertise will ensure a positive, supportive learning experience for a dedicated student, focusing on both instructional and compensatory needs. There is a commitment of 6 hours weekly—4 hours of instruction and 2 hours dedicated to compensatory services—beginning the week of August 17th, onsite only.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Texas or eligible for reciprocity)
- Prior experience supporting students with significant disabilities, especially within life skills or homebound settings
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families and school personnel
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adjust strategies according to the student’s progress
- Organized, reliable, and punctual
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and compensatory services as outlined in the student’s IEP
- Track and document student progress, reporting outcomes and needs to educational stakeholders
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment within the homebound setting
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic development
