Special Education Teacher - Wilmington, DE

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching certification (must be obtained prior to the school year’s start)
• Experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably in both co-taught and small group settings
• Comfort working with, or willingness to learn, the Infinite IEP program
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Ability to manage and motivate diverse learners while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for 8th and 12th-grade students in accordance with each student’s IEP
• Teach two co-taught classes and two small group classes, adapting instructional strategies to meet a range of learning needs
• Maintain detailed documentation and utilize Infinite IEP for progress monitoring and compliance
• Prepare instructional materials and oversee students’ academic and behavioral progress
• Communicate regularly with families, counselors, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support for all students
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives as required
