Special Education Teacher in Wilmington, DE

This contract opportunity extends from ASAP through early June 2027, offering a chance to contribute to student growth and learning for an extended period. You’ll have the unique chance to work onsite, collaborating with educational professionals and providing resources to students throughout the district.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active and valid Delaware Special Education Teacher certification (must be submitted with application)
• Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff
• Flexibility and adaptability when supporting students in various settings
• Passion for creating inclusive, supportive educational environments
• Understanding of IEP processes and compliance requirements in special education

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students in accordance with their IEPs
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and strategies for student success
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to educational planning
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Support district-wide initiatives and deliver services to students at locations throughout the district
