Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement (or eligibility)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience in inclusive and resource settings, including co-teaching models
- Ability to support exceptionalities such as SLD, OHI, AUT, ID, and DD
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork and parent collaboration
- Adaptable and compassionate approach to guiding students with varying needs
Position Details & Responsibilities:
- 6th-grade co-teaching position with a projected caseload of 11, serving students with SLD and OHI
- Two direct instruction roles for K-3rd grade, each managing a caseload of approximately 10 students with OHI, AUT, SLD, ID, and DD
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to foster student growth
- Adapt curriculum, provide targeted interventions, and maintain thorough documentation
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives to enhance student success
