Special Education Teacher | Wilsonville, Alabama

What We’re Looking For:

• Certification in elementary special education or Collaborative K-6 in the state of Alabama (required)
• Previous experience teaching students with significant disabilities is highly valued
• Ability to create and implement individualized instruction plans
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Collaborative mindset and a nurturing, patient approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily instruction in a self-contained classroom setting
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s unique learning needs
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages student growth and confidence
• Work closely with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Maintain records, attend meetings, and adhere to all compliance standards

Additional Details:

• Full-time, contract position (35-37.5 hours per week)
• Onsite role with a consistent 7:30AM to 3:00PM weekday schedule
• Manage a caseload of approximately 10-12 students
