As a Special Education Teacher for the GNETS (Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports) program, you’ll work with students who benefit from intensive behavioral, social-emotional, and academic supports. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs in the GNETS program.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
- Utilize proven behavioral interventions and positive behavior supports to create an effective learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with administrators, service providers, families, and support staff for holistic student support.
- Document and track student progress while ensuring compliance with educational requirements.
- Provide differentiated instruction across core academic subjects.
- Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification, including multiple academic content areas (documentation required).
- Solid knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and classroom management.
- Demonstrated experience with writing and implementing IEPs.
- Completion of three reference checks, including one recent supervisory reference.
- Prior experience in GNETS or alternative education settings strongly preferred.
- CPI or behavior management training is advantageous.
- Background in supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders is highly beneficial.
