Special Education Teacher in Winder, GA

As a Special Education Teacher for the GNETS (Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports) program, you’ll work with students who benefit from intensive behavioral, social-emotional, and academic supports. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs in the GNETS program.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
• Utilize proven behavioral interventions and positive behavior supports to create an effective learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with administrators, service providers, families, and support staff for holistic student support.
• Document and track student progress while ensuring compliance with educational requirements.
• Provide differentiated instruction across core academic subjects.
• Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification, including multiple academic content areas (documentation required).
• Solid knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and classroom management.
• Demonstrated experience with writing and implementing IEPs.
• Completion of three reference checks, including one recent supervisory reference.
• Prior experience in GNETS or alternative education settings strongly preferred.
• CPI or behavior management training is advantageous.
• Background in supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders is highly beneficial.
