Make a meaningful difference in elementary students’ lives through your expertise in special education. A well-established district near Winnetka, IL, is seeking dedicated educators to support K-4 learners during the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, onsite contract role (Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week), working within a resource model that combines both pull-out and push-in instruction. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with 8-12 students, offering crucial academic and social-emotional support in an inclusive environment.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education, or the ability to obtain one through the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS)
  • Experience in a resource/special education classroom serving K-4 students
  • Familiarity or certification in Orton Gillingham methodology or similar (SLANT, Wilson, Sonday, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for developing individualized learning strategies and providing both academic and social/emotional support

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs, using a mix of pull-out and push-in models
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with team members and families
  • Provide targeted interventions using evidence-based methodologies
  • Track student progress, adapt instruction, and advocate for student needs within the general education setting
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
