Special Education Teacher | Winnetka, Illinois

Make a difference every day by supporting the growth and success of elementary students in a vibrant educational setting. This role invites you to work as a dedicated Special Education Teacher, guiding K-4 learners within a resource model that blends direct instruction with in-class support. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, covering 35 hours each week, and runs through early June of 2027. Your expertise will empower students both academically and socially/emotionally as you serve a manageable caseload of 8-10 students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and interventions, including both pull-out resource sessions and push-in support in general education classrooms.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive learning environment encouraging academic progress and emotional development.
• Monitor student progress, adapting plans to address evolving needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate regularly with families, sharing successes and strategies to support learning at home.
• Uphold school policies and maintain compliance with educational standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement, or eligible for Illinois licensure through ISBE ELIS for out-of-state candidates.
• Experience providing academic and social/emotional support in an elementary resource model is preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and working in an onsite, collaborative school environment.
