As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll support elementary students (K-4) in a resource model with a caseload of 8-12 learners, blending pull-out and push-in support for academics and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or closely related field
  • Valid Professional Educator’s License (PEL) or eligibility to obtain via the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS)
  • Experience with resource model special education and supporting diverse learners
  • Preferred: Training or certification in Orton Gillingham (SLANT, Wilson, Sonday, etc.)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction in small-group and inclusive classroom settings
  • Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and maintain documentation
  • Collaborate with general educators, families, and specialists to optimize student growth
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
