Desired Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a self-contained or ASD-focused setting
- Strong understanding of diverse learning styles and evidence-based instructional approaches
- Ability to tailor curriculum and behavioral supports to meet each student’s needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and team
- Organized, flexible, and responsive to changing classroom dynamics
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-5 students in a self-contained ASD program
- Adapt and differentiate lesson plans to support a variety of learning and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to ensure holistic support
- Track student progress, conduct ongoing assessments, and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Promote social, emotional, and life skills development in line with students’ IEP goals
