Grades 9 - 12 Certified Special Education Teacher | Woodbridge, Virginia

Working with self-contained classrooms and a manageable size of no more than nine students per class, you'll have the chance to deliver individualized attention and foster growth for students aged 5-22.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience or willingness to teach grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
• Comfort working with students who have severe behavioral and academic needs
• Ability to instruct across multiple subjects
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
• Clear communication with diverse learners and team collaboration

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging, differentiated instruction for students with complex learning and behavioral challenges
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with related service providers
• Maintain a structured, supportive classroom climate with positive behavioral supports
• Track student progress; adjust teaching strategies based on data and observation
• Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and school staff
