As a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis, you’ll be providing instruction in self-contained classrooms, working with students ages 5 through 22. In this full-time role, you’ll teach in classrooms serving a maximum of nine students, ensuring highly personalized attention. Your day will run from 7:30am to 3:30pm, totaling 40 hours per week, creating consistency for both you and your students.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
• Experience teaching in self-contained classrooms preferred
• Background supporting diverse learners, including those with behavioral challenges
• Comfortable adapting curriculum across multiple subject areas (K-12)
• Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a team-centered approach
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with specialists, families, and support staff
• Commitment to fostering a safe, engaging learning environment for every student

Duties:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to a variety of learning and behavioral needs
• Teach multiple subjects to students in grades K-12 in a contained setting
• Manage classroom behaviors using evidence-based strategies
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on student progress and behavior
• Communicate regularly with families and interdisciplinary teams
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth in students with diverse needs
