Certified Grades K - 5 Special Education Teacher in Woodbridge, VA

You'll collaborate with a dedicated team and lead self-contained classrooms, ensuring individualized instruction and support for a small group of learners (max 9 students per class). The daily schedule runs from 7:30am to 3:30pm, totaling 40 hours per week, allowing for excellent work-life balance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education, covering grades K-12
• Experience with severe behavioral and/or self-contained classroom environments strongly preferred
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs for diverse age groups and content areas
• Skilled in adapting curricula and applying behavioral strategies for a wide range of abilities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Flexibility across subject matters to deliver multi-disciplinary instruction

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and manage all academic subjects within a self-contained special education classroom
• Employ evidence-based instructional techniques and behavior interventions tailored to individual needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
