Make a difference supporting K-12 students in a rewarding Special Education setting. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers four openings, with roles spanning both academic and behavioral-focused programs for the 2026-2027 school year. Assignments will be tailored to educators’ strengths and preferences, making each position dynamic and impactful.

Openings include:

  • Middle school life skills program: Serve 12 students alongside 4 instructional assistants; focus on a combination of behavioral support and foundational academics.
  • Elementary K-2 developmental classroom: Guide 16 students with the help of 5 instructional assistants; address basic skills, functional routines, and communication strategies, working closely with some non-verbal learners.
  • Two positions in an elementary behavioral health center: Support 3rd-5th graders (approx. 13 students, 4 instructional assistants) in a highly structured behavioral program.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education for Oregon, or eligibility
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting special education programs (K-12 preferred)
  • Ability to manage varying classroom needs, including behavior and academic differentiation
  • Collaborative mindset for working with instructional assistants and other professionals
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills for diverse learners

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students
  • Deliver engaging lessons suited to each student’s abilities and goals
  • Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment
  • Partner with families, support staff, and administrators to promote student growth
  • Monitor and report on student progress
