Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting a life skills class for a small group of students. This contract role is available either part-time or full-time through the end of the school year and provides the opportunity to work closely with a group of five students who benefit from individualized programming and attention.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience leading or assisting life skills classes preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and differentiated instruction
  • Ability to collaborate with other staff and support team-based approaches
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student IEPs, focusing on life skills and core academics
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with parents and care teams on student development
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and collaborative planning
  • Provide individualized support and encouragement to each student
