Special Education Teacher in Woonsocket, RI

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience teaching in special education settings, particularly self-contained classrooms
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured environment
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Comfort working with middle and/or high school level students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet each student’s IEP goals
• Oversee and collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals, ensuring coordinated support for all students
• Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication with parents and educational teams
• Create and manage a classroom environment conducive to learning and safety
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
