Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience teaching in special education settings, particularly self-contained classrooms
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured environment
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Comfort working with middle and/or high school level students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet each student’s IEP goals
- Oversee and collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals, ensuring coordinated support for all students
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication with parents and educational teams
- Create and manage a classroom environment conducive to learning and safety
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
