Special Education Teacher - Woonsocket, RI

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Previous experience working with grades 4-8 preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance
• Familiarity with resource room models and pull-out instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct resource and pull-out services for students in grades 4-8, focusing on academic and behavioral growth
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Adapt instructional materials and methods to address each student’s learning goals
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress through assessments and data collection
• Consult with classroom teachers to integrate accommodations and modifications
• Communicate regularly with families, offering updates and support
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
