Special Education Teacher in Woonsocket, RI

Make a positive impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community located near Woonsocket, RI. Two contract positions are available for the upcoming school year, offering a rewarding environment where you can foster student growth and collaborate closely with team members.

Openings are available for both a Lower School setting (PreK-2nd grade) and Middle School (6th-8th grades). The caseload involves push-in and push-out models, tailored according to each student’s IEP and unique needs, with an average group size of 12-17 students.

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island (RI) Special Education Teaching License is required
• Previous experience working in Special Education settings, with knowledge of IEP implementation
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to coordinate effectively with general education staff, administration, and families
• Flexibility to adapt instructional strategies to diverse learners
• Ability to maintain accurate records and provide detailed documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction in alignment with student IEPs
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to address a range of learning needs and styles
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress
• Manage and document student progress, participate in meetings, and contribute to IEP development and review
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture

Schedule:

• Position 1: Lower School (PreK-2nd), 7:30am-3:00pm
• Position 2: Middle School (6th-8th), 8:00am-4:00pm
• Orientation week begins August 24th; students start August 27th
