Step into a fulfilling role supporting students as an Elementary Special Education Teacher in a K-4 therapeutic classroom. This contract position begins August 25, 2025, and continues through June 19, 2026. You’ll play a pivotal part in a substantially separate classroom environment, collaborating with dedicated educators and making a meaningful difference every day. Scheduled hours are 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, offering a consistent and balanced workday.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Previous experience teaching elementary-aged children, particularly within special education settings
  • Background working in classrooms serving students with therapeutic needs
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with support staff, families, and related service providers
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Resourcefulness, empathy, and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and social skills to K-4 students in a substantially separate therapeutic classroom
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
  • Implement accommodations and modifications as specified in each child’s IEP
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including specialists, paraprofessionals, and parents
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
