Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility
  • Previous experience with elementary-aged students preferred
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction strategies and inclusion practices
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse needs

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction within mainstream classrooms for students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curricula and instructional strategies for students with IEPs or 504 Plans
  • Monitor student progress, maintain records, and regularly update goals to ensure growth and compliance
  • Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and parent conferences as required
  • Provide consultative support and professional guidance to colleagues to promote the success of inclusion practices
  • Encourage positive behavior, social skills, and self-advocacy among students
  • Foster open lines of communication with families, offering updates and support
