This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support 9th-12th grade students in a resource inclusion classroom setting. The caseload consists of approximately 18 students, with paraprofessional support available. The role focuses on starting and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborating closely with related services staff to provide comprehensive support.
Location:
- Williamsburg, VA
- Elementary School setting
- Contract position for the current school year (CSY)
- 35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) according to students’ needs
- Collaborate with related services staff and paraprofessionals to deliver effective instructional support
- Manage a caseload of approximately 18 students in a resource inclusion classroom
- Track student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly
Qualifications and Experience:
- Virginia License with Special Education Endorsement (required)
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs confidently
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience preferred
- Strong understanding of special education best practices and compliance guidelines
