Three passionate Special Education Teachers are needed for the upcoming school year, working full-time from August 18, 2026, through the end of the academic year. Specialized classroom settings include elementary ASD-CI rooms, a high-school ASD room, and a resource room, allowing you to contribute your expertise where it matters most.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Michigan Special Education certification (CI or ASD endorsement required; please include license with application)
- Proven ability to adapt instruction to individual learning profiles and needs
- Experience managing caseloads and working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families
- Background in delivering evidence-based instructional strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairments (CI)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet legal requirements and student strengths
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured classroom environment
- Employ specialized teaching methodologies and accommodations to ensure student progress
- Maintain accurate records for student development, intervention strategies, and assessments
- Collaborate actively with other professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents to promote student success
