Ypsilanti Community Schools is seeking three dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. We have multiple full-time opportunities available serving students in elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cognitive Impairment (CI), and Resource Room settings.

Current Openings
2 Elementary ASD/CI Classroom Teachers
1 Resource Room Special Education Teacher
Position Responsibilities
Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations.
Create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to support student success.
Qualifications
Active Michigan Special Education Teaching License with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Cognitive Impairment (CI) endorsement is required.
Applicants must include a copy of their current Michigan teaching license with their application.
Experience working with students in ASD, CI, or Resource Room settings is preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, classroom management, and organizational skills.
