Special Education Teacher - Yreka, California

Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in scenic Siskiyou County, CA, near Yreka. This contract position (37.5 hours per week) is tailored for educators who are passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and making a meaningful difference in students’ lives.

As part of your role, you will work with a caseload of 28 students or fewer, all classified as mild to moderate. Your expertise will further empower these students through tailored instruction and collaboration with school staff. The primary assignment is on-site, but if you excel in virtual instruction, there may be a possibility to teach through remote platforms.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification or credential to teach Special Education
• Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to manage a diverse classroom and customize learning plans
• Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance requirements
• Previous experience in a school setting is preferred

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) designed for each student’s needs
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
• Use data-driven approaches to monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly
• Foster a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
