From August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to empower learners and collaborate with a passionate school community. This contract position is based near Zion, IL, working approximately 33.25 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Educator License (PEL) required; please be prepared to provide a copy with your application
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a resource room or similar setting, preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction in a resource room environment for students with diverse needs
  • Develop and execute effective lesson plans tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date records
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student success
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages students’ academic and social development
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices in special education
