Location: Zion, Illinois
Contract Dates: August 17, 2026 – May 27, 2027
Schedule: Full-time, approximately 33.25 hours per week
Setting: In-person only
Position: Special Education Resource Room Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide resource-room instruction during the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will support students with disabilities through individualized instruction, accommodations, progress monitoring, and collaboration with general education staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction in a special education resource-room setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor students’ IEP goals
• Adapt lessons and instructional materials to meet individual student needs
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, administrators, and families
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements

Requirements

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License
• Appropriate Illinois special education endorsement for the assignment
• Must provide a current copy of the PEL when presented for consideration
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative educational team

Compensation for this position ranges from $33.05 to $53.05. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
