This contract position offers full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) and a vital role across both elementary and secondary levels. Your caseload will vary as you collaborate with staff and families to empower students to achieve their fullest potential. The district is open to both onsite and virtual (VOCO) professionals, providing flexibility to match your preferred teaching style and availability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility)
- Experience supporting students with varying levels of hearing loss
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, staff, and support personnel
- Comfort working with a broad age range, from elementary through secondary
- Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations to promote learning
- Previous experience in school settings preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in group settings
- Consult with educators and support staff to ensure access to the curriculum
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records
- Adapt and modify instructional materials as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, team consultations, and professional development
