Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, making a significant impact on students across a northern suburb in the Nashville area. This position offers the chance to support K-12 learners within a district recognized for its dedicated DHH hubs serving Pre-K through elementary grades, with an exciting new middle school hub opening for the upcoming school year. Assignments will be onsite only, with the specific number of campuses varying based on student needs.

As a full-time educator working Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week), you will provide primarily consultative services to support the development and learning of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Your role will be determined by current caseload requirements and may involve collaborative strategies to ensure each child’s IEP goals are met.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Tennessee Department of Education Certification required
  • Prior experience working with deaf or hard of hearing children highly preferred
  • Ability to work successfully with a K-12 student population in diverse educational settings
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Must complete Tennessee fingerprinting and comply with time-sensitive credentialing protocols

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consultative and direct services tailored to the IEPs of DHH students
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support inclusive education
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional approaches to accommodate individual needs
  • Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices and accessibility
  • Maintain thorough, compliance-driven documentation
