Make a meaningful difference for students as a skilled educator for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) learners in a vibrant suburban school community just north of Nashville. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar. You’ll support a range of K-12 students across DHH hub campuses, including newly established middle school programs. Each assignment is uniquely determined by district needs, often requiring primarily consultative support for students and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for DHH instruction
  • Experience working with students across K-12 settings
  • Strong skills in consultative services for DHH students, families, and school teams
  • Ability to adapt service delivery to varied caseloads and age groups
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities
  • Completion of TN fingerprinting/background checks as required by evolving district guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional and consultative services for a diverse DHH student population
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators across various school sites
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals specific to DHH needs
  • Support transitions as the district expands DHH services into middle school settings
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to compliance with all state, district, and federal regulations
  • Engage with families and caregivers to foster student success
