Make a meaningful impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite with a diverse K-12 student population, ranging from preschoolers to middle schoolers. Based in the northern Nashville area, you'll collaborate closely with educational teams across designated district DHH program hubs. The role primarily involves consultative services aligned with students' individualized needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education Certificate for DHH teaching required
  • Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students preferred
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • TN fingerprint clearance (to be completed prior to start)
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied assignments and caseloads

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct or consultative support to K-12 students with hearing loss, depending on individual needs
  • Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to promote accessible learning environments
  • Develop, implement, and monitor goals as outlined in students' IEPs
  • Serve as a key liaison to families and external service providers
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of progress and services
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as directed by the district

This contract is scheduled to begin at the start of the school year and continues through the end of May, aligning with the school calendar. Assignments will be determined based upon district needs and may include multiple campuses with dedicated DHH program hubs.
