Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Alto, GA

Make an impact helping K-12 students access their full potential as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the Alto, GA area. This contract role provides services to five diverse students across multiple nearby schools, supporting their communication needs in inclusive educational environments.

Ideal candidates are passionate about advocacy, adaptable, and ready to travel between sites (all easily accessible within a few minutes of each other). This opportunity offers part-time flexibility with 8-10 hours of direct service weekly, making a meaningful difference for students at various developmental stages.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Experience working with K-12 students in diverse settings
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to manage caseloads at different school sites
• Open to candidates with out-of-state licensure
• Knowledge of assistive technology for DHH students preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing loss across elementary, middle, and high school levels
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
• Advocate for accessible learning environments and appropriate accommodations
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Travel between school sites within the district, all located a short distance apart
