Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Anoka, Minnesota

Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting K-12 students as an ASL Interpreter in a vibrant educational environment. This long-term contract role will be vital in bridging communication, ensuring Deaf and Hard of Hearing students have equal access to classroom learning and school activities. You’ll collaborate closely with educational staff, work on-site (strictly in person), and serve a diverse student caseload from now through May 2027.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Current certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as RID-NIC or NAD IV/V
• OR minimum score of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a passing score on the EIPA written exam
• Previous experience as an ASL Interpreter or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school or educational setting highly preferred
• Ability to interpret effectively in American Sign Language
• Comfortable working with students K-12 in classroom and activity settings
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
• Commitment to fully onsite work (remote/voco is not an option)

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, effective ASL interpretation for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students during classroom instruction, activities, and school events
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students’ academic and social objectives
• Assist in facilitating communication between students, peers, and school personnel
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality and adhere to school policies
• Serve as a linguistic and cultural resource for the school community
• Adapt interpreting style to student age and educational content
