What you bring:
- Valid teaching certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Experience with auditory/oral, total communication, sign language, and/or cued speech
- Familiarity with IEP process and ability to provide direct and consultative services
- Strong collaboration and advocacy skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials for diverse learning needs
- Skilled in using assistive technology and accommodations to support access
- Excellent communication abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Previous school-based experience preferred
In this role, you will:
- Deliver specialized instruction based on students’ IEPs
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Support staff in implementing accommodations and communication strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to appropriate educational planning
- Serve as a resource to families and advocate for students’ rights and needs
- Foster a positive, accessible classroom environment where every student thrives
- Aid in the transition of students between educational settings as needed
