Desired Qualifications:

• Current teaching certification with endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility)
• Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of auditory/oral methodologies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and parents
• Adaptability in delivering both direct and consultative services across multiple grade levels

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique learning needs
• Provide direct instruction using appropriate communication modes and resources
• Adapt curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for each student
• Consult with classroom teachers to integrate supportive strategies and modifications
• Advocate for students’ needs and foster an inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor progress and regularly communicate with families and school staff
• Stay current on best practices and emerging technologies within deaf education
