Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Special Education (state certification preferred)
• Prior experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing children in an educational environment
• Strong knowledge of Deaf culture, hearing assistive technologies, and differentiated instruction
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable
• Excellent communication, organizational, and advocacy skills
• Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional support to students with hearing loss, both in mainstream and specialized settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum, create accessible materials, and utilize assistive technology to ensure student participation
• Serve as a resource for staff on best practices and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Monitor and document student progress, maintaining effective communication with the educational team
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
