Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to each student's needs and strengths
- Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based strategies and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support inclusive classroom environments
- Conduct assessments to inform instruction and measure student progress
- Provide consultation and professional development to staff to enhance communication access and support
- Advocate for students’ needs and success throughout the school community
