Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in K-12 school environments (preferred)
- Strong understanding of various communication modes, including ASL, Signed English, oral/aural approaches, and assistive technologies
- Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, working with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning space for students with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction for students with hearing loss, based on IEPs
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to maximize learning outcomes
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, providing training on accessibility, classroom modifications, and advocacy
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals
- Assist in the selection and use of assistive listening devices and classroom amplification systems
- Participate in IEP meetings, student reviews, and ongoing professional development
